Welcome to the christmasmouse.com New User Tutorial. This tutorial is designed to acclimate new customers to our
web site and how to browse/use the site.
The Home Page is split up into different categories. Our main categories are: Oraments, Decorations,
Collectibles, and Trees & Wreaths. You can select which category to browse in many ways. We have a drop down
menu here,
top tabs here,
and left tabs here.
Also w/the left tabs, are sub-categories and a
link to view more, which will also take you to the main category page. A final way you can find items on our
web site is by utilizing the search feature.
You can input the item # directly if you know it or just a general description of the item and be taken to
a list of relevant results.
If you click on one of our Categories, you will be taken to a page similar to this one.
On this page, you will find a listing of
all the sub-categories for that category (in this case we are looking at Christmas Ornaments, so all the
sub-categories will be different types of ornaments). If you click a sub-category, you will be taken to 1 of 2
possible pages, either a listing of all the items in that sub-category:
or a listing of sub-sub categories.
When you click a Sub Category, you will see 1 of the 2 pages mentioned above. If you clicked a page which
contains sub-sub categories, you then will be able to further refine your search by selecting a sub-sub
category of items. In this example, we are viewing the Animal Ornaments sub category.
By default, you will only see up to 6
items/categories at a time on a page. You can click the view all link (if applicable) to see more
items/categories. In our next example, we will be looking at the Ballerina/Dance Ornaments sub category.
Here you will again see up to 6 items at a time by
default. If you click the view all link, you will be able to see the full listing. A word to the wise,
sometimes Yahoo acts up and you will need to hit refresh or reload (commonly the hotkey in most browsers is
F5), to see the pictures for each item/sub category.
Sub-Sub Categories are almost identical to sub categories. If you recall, the 2nd type of sub category we looked
at was,
where you just see the items and
pictures directly. A sub-sub category is just like that. Once you click the sub-sub category from the sub
category page, you will be taken to a list of the items, a small picture, and their price. From here, in order
to view an item, you would click the item you wanted to look at.
When you click an individual Item's page, you will be taken to 1 of 2 pages, either an assorted item:
or a non-assorted item.
If you selected
an assorted item as in the first image, you will need to pick which style/choice/type of item(s) you want to
purchase from the drop down menu. Some items will be labeled w/letters, some will just list the choices and you
should reference the picture to confirm your selection. If you selected a non-assorted item as in the 2nd
image, you will not need to worry about selecting a choice, you just enter your quantity and add it to your cart.
